Sometimes I find it hard to photograph strangers close up, but this was a once-in-a-lifetime shot I knew I couldn't miss. This opportunity presented itself while I was strolling along the promenade on the banks of the Danube, central Budapest. (Nikon F80; Fuji Provia; 2007)

The interior of this mosque in Cairo was simple and elegant, lending even greater significance to the light streaming in through a small skylight high above in the dome. The reflection of the light in the old ceiling lanterns was truly awe inspiring. (Nikon F80; Fuji Provia; 2003)
This is the famous Chain Bridge built in 1839 by the English engineer T.W.Clark. The bridge took over ten years to build and it was the first bridge to span the Danube connecting the two halves of the city Buda and Pest, hence the name today 'Budapest'. The bridge was badly bombed during WWII, and painstakingly rebuilt in the original style. (Nikon D70; 2007)

A fairground at the Culdrose Air Day presented this photo opportunity. My son Andrew was clearly enjoying his moment in a wild kalidescope of colours and movement. (Pentax ME Super; 2000)
