An early morning stroll along the beach at Helford revealed this fishing vessel, beached at low tide for repairs. (Nikon F80; Fuji Provia, 2005)
This composition of bull rushes in the evening light at Windsor Great Park was my first competition win! Taken in 1979 with my (then) new Pentax ME Super, I entered the photo for the Durham University Photographic Society Annual competition - and was pleasantly surprised to discover it won 1st prize! Another shot of Arabian Oryx at the Al Maha resort near Dubai. Here I've tried to capture a sense of their graceful motion as the herd started to gallop away from us in the early morning light. (Nikon F80; Kodachrome Elite slide film; 2003)
Another of my 'early period' compositions, taken whilst studying geology at Durham University. In this photo of the High Force waterfall, I used a long exposure to capture the flow of water over the well worn rocks. (Pentax ME Super, 1980)
